OPENING OF BANK ACCOUNTS – KYC REQUIREMENTS

Individuals

  1. Customer ID proof/Documents: Any one of the following
    • PAN Card
    • Voter’s ID Card
    • Passport
    • Driving License
    • Aadhaar Number issued by Unique Identification authority of India (UIDA)
    • ID Card (Subject to Bank’s satisfaction)
    • Job Card issued by NREGA duly signed by an officer of the State Government.
  2. Address Proof: Any one of the following
    • Telephone bill
    • Bank account statement
    • Letter from a recognized public authority or public servant verifying the identity and residence of the customer to the satisfaction of bank
    • Electricity bill
    • Ration Card
  3. Latest Photographs - 2 nos

Salaried Employees

  • Letter from the employer and any one of the officially valid        
  • Documents like passport, driving licence, PAN card, voters identify     
    Card etc
  • Latest photographs – 2nos
  • For address proof one of the documents as mentioned in point 2    
    above.

Accounts of Companies  

  • Certificate of incorporation and Memorandum & articles of Association
  • Resolution of the Board of Directors to open account and identification of those who have authority to operate the account
  • Power of Attorney granted to its managers or an employee to transact business on its behalf
  • Copy of PAN/PAN allotment letter
  • Copy of the telephone bill
  • Photograph of the Directors/authorized persons.

Accounts of partnership Firms

  • Registration certificate, if registered
  • Partnership deed
  • Power of Attorney granted to a partner or an employee of the firm to transact business on its behalf
  • Any officially valid document identifying the partners and the persons holding the Power of Attorney and their addresses with their latest photographs
  • Telephone/Electricity bill in the name of firm
  • Copy of PAN/PAN allotment letter in the name of the firm (subject to the condition that the same is produced at a later date)
  • Photograph of the partners/authorized persons.

Accounts of Proprietorship firms

  1. Photo ID of the proprietor
  2. Copy of the PAN/PAN allotment letter and any two documents among –
    • Proof of the name, address and activity of the concern
    • Registration Certificate (in the case of registered firm)
    • Certificate/ license issued by the Municipal Authorities under Shops and Establishment Act.
    • Sales Tax Returns
    • Income Tax Returns
    • CST/VAT certificates
    • Certificate/Registration document issued by Sales Tax /Service Tax/Professional Tax Authorities.
    • License issued by the Registering Authority like certificate of Practice issued by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, Institute of Company Secretaries of India, Indian Medical Council, Food and Drug control Authorities, etc.
    • Any registration/licensing document issued in the name of the proprietary concern by the Central / State Govt authority/ Dept
    • IEC (Importer Exporter Code), issued to the proprietary concern by the office of DGTF

     
  3. Latest photograph of the proprietor/authorised person.

Accounts of Trusts & foundations

  • Certificate of registration, if registered
  • Power of Attorney granted to transact business on its behalf
  • Any officially valid document to identify the trustees, settlers, beneficiaries and those holding Power of Attorney, founders/managers/directors and their addresses
  • Resolution of the managing body of the foundation/ association
  • Telephone bill
  • Photograph of the Trustees/authorized persons.

 Openingof Accounts by Foreign Students-
Documents to be obtained, Etc.

  • Passport- as the document for proof of identity.
  • Valid Visa- a visa with photograph in it can also serve as an identity proof.
  • Proof of admission- usually a letter from the University or College.
  • Address Proof- a letter from the college or hostel, certificate from
    Embassy of the country of origin or any appropriate legal authority
    Certificated local address in India/ rent agreement / Certificate of
    Registration issued by Foreigner Registration Regional Office (FRRO).
  • Latest photograph - 2nos
